Artist George Stone constructs work that, when installed and turned on, confounds, makes a lot of racket,
and comments slyly of the lonliness of the human condition. The catalogue functions more as container for
documentation of Stone’s animated sculptures: a lively expressive record of a moment that elaborates and
amplifies the twitchings and ticking of his robots and contraptions.

BUZZ: The Intimate Bond Between Humans & Insects

Photographed with a high-powered electron microscope, these highly magnified images capture the vibrant color
and detail of everyday insects. To emphasize the scale of the photographs we decided to draw each bug at
“actual scale” and place it opposite the corresponding insect image. This design choice gives the viewer a true
scale reference to identify insects they might see around their home. Throughout the book,the drawings of bugs
crawl about the page demonstrating their particular behaviors. We also created playful insect illustrations to
communicate the themes of each chapter.
